We are a gothic, witchy, and dark aesthetic candle brand based in Salem, MA, crafting handmade soy candles in small batches with high-end fragrance oils. Our brand blends dark elegance with humor, storytelling, and product education. We’re looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Content Creator to join our internal marketing team and help grow our online presence through engaging, high-quality content. YOU MUST live in or close to Salem to be eligible for this role. Salary is negotiable based on experience.

Role Overview:

As our Social Media Content Creator, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing creative social media strategies that captivate our audience and drive engagement. You’ll work closely with the owner and our team to craft compelling posts, reels, and stories that align with our brand’s darkly whimsical aesthetic. Your role will involve content creation, scheduling, community engagement, and staying ahead of social media trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and curate engaging content (images, videos, reels, carousels, and stories) for Instagram and TikTok.
• Develop and implement a content calendar aligned with our brand voice and marketing goals.
• Write witty and engaging captions that resonate with our audience.
• Capture in-store content, behind-the-scenes footage, and seasonal trends to keep our content fresh and relevant.
• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and customer interactions in a way that strengthens community engagement.
• Track and analyze social media performance to optimize content strategy.
• Research and experiment with new social media trends, tools, and platform updates.
• Collaborate with the internal team on promotions, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
• Work with the owner to grow social channels, implement and manage in app shopping experiences and live videos

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in social media content creation, preferably in lifestyle, gothic, witchy, or artisan brands.
• Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok algorithms, trends, and best practices.
• Experience with photography, videography, and basic video editing (reels, TikTok-style content, etc.).
• Proficiency in Canva, CapCut, Adobe Suite, or similar content creation tools.
• Strong writing skills with a flair for humor, gothic aesthetics, and engaging storytelling.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Passion for candles, witchy aesthetics, and small business marketing is a plus!
